\n\t\t\tAfter months of deliberation in Court, the Law of Democratic Memory<\/strong>, popularly known as the Law of grandchildren<\/strong>, has fin finally approved by the Official State Gazette of Spain on the 20th of October 2022. The new legislation extends the assumptions stipulated from the law approved in Spain in 2007, that is no longer in force, and allows more people form Cuba and Latin America, descendants<\/strong> of Spaniards who were born abroad, to obtain the Spanish nationality directly without having to live in Spain for no minimum period of time. <\/div>\n

\n\t\t\tAlthough the main aim of the law is to compensate the victims of Spain’s Civil War and the later military government of Francisco Franco<\/strong>, the additional 8th disposition facilitates the obtain of a Spanish passport for three new groups:<\/div>\n
