The new Interprofessional Minimum Wage is approved for 2024

On February 6, the Official State Gazette (BOE) published Royal Decree 145/2024, which establishes the new amount of the Minimum Interprofessional Salary (SMI). This remuneration will apply to all citizens who carry out activities in the agriculture, industry, or services sectors, as long as they comply with the full legal working day. The corresponding changes compared to the regulations signed in 2023 are detailed below.

  • The minimum wage will reach €1,134 in 14 payments. It is stated that it will represent an increase of 5% compared to that set last year. (€1,080).
  • The annual calculation rises to €15,876, which translates into €54 more in each of the monthly payments.
  • Domestic employees who work hourly must receive a minimum of €8.87 per hour.
  • In the case of temporary workers, as well as temporary workers, whose services to the same company do not exceed 120 days, the amount of salary may not be less, in any case, than €53.71 per day.
