The end of the return to the office is here. Two years have passed since the start of the pandemic, and it seems that, little by little, we are returning to the normality of before: restrictive measures are beginning to be relaxed (the elimination of masks indoors is expected soon) and presence is once again occupying a very important place in all spheres. So we can finally say that the return to normality is a reality.

The government of Spain has approved an agreement that will allow the citizens of Ukraine, affected by the conflict, to invoked since the 10th of March to a series of temporal measures of protection, according to EU Directive 2002/72/EC. This protocol will facilitate even more, the regulation of Ukraine citizens already living in Spain, allowing the automatic access to residence and work permit.

It is quite common among SMEs to include family members in the business, as they are people who know the activity quite well, and it is easier for them than hiring someone from outside. However, their hiring is not regulated like that of any salaried worker, but through a special figure, that of the collaborating freelancer, whose regime is different from that of the self-employed. 

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) is opening the call for applications for grants from the Ideas powered for business SME FUND. The deadline for applications is 16 December 2022. The initiative aims to help European SMEs in the wake of the difficulties many of them have experienced due to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.

On 1 January, the new tax measures approved in the General State Budget Law for 2022, published in the Official State Gazette on 29 December, came into force.

The Public Employment Service of Catalonia has announced the opening of 3 calls for applications for grants for the recruitment of people under 30 years of age, for the recruitment of people aged 30 and over and for the recruitment of people aged 52 and over, receiving the RGC (Guaranteed Income of Citizenship) and not receiving unemployment benefits.
