Call for new grants for trademarks, designs and patents launched

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) is opening the call for applications for grants from the Ideas powered for business SME FUND. The deadline for applications is 16 December 2022. The initiative aims to help European SMEs in the wake of the difficulties many of them have experienced due to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis

For whom are these subsidies intended?


This aid is aimed at SMEs that meet the following requirements:

  • They must have 250 workers or less.
  •  Their turnover is equal to or less than €50 million.
  • Their balance sheet is equal to or less than €43 million.

What are the benefits of these grants?


Each SME can receive aid of up to €2,250 and the following limits are established:

  • Reimbursement of 90% on IP Scan services.
  • Reimbursement of 75% of EU trademark and design fees.
  • 75% reimbursement of trademark and design fees at national and regional level.
  • 50% reimbursement of fees for trademarks and designs outside the EU.
  • 50% reimbursement of patent fees at national level.
